Singer-actor Lucky Ali reveals past marriages across countries: “Each came with its own story”

Singer-actor Lucky Ali recently opened up about a personal chapter of his life that has remained largely out of the spotlight — his marriages. In a candid interview with Navbharat Times, he revealed that he has been married three times, each in a different country, and described each relationship as having “its own story”.

Three Marriages, Three Countries

Lucky Ali shared that his first marriage was to Meaghan Jane McCleary, with whom he has two children. His second marriage was to a Persian woman named Inaya, and the third, in 2010, was to British model Kate Elizabeth Hallam, with whom he has a son.
He emphasised:

“It’s not necessary that you start and end life with the same partner. I married three times, each time in a different country, and every situation was unique.”

No Regrets, Just Acceptance

Despite none of the marriages working out in the long term, Lucky Ali says he holds no regrets. He asserts that while the unions may have ended, the relationships themselves remain alive in a different form:

“None of my marriages worked, but all my relationships are still alive. We don’t live together, but we are always there for each other.”
He also emphasised his role as a father:
“I have always been responsible towards my kids… I believe the only true way of parenting is through love—children learn from what they see their parents do.”

A Global Upbringing Founded His Perspective

Lucky Ali’s openness about multiple marriages is rooted in a lifelong exposure to multicultural and international experiences. He noted that even his father, the veteran actor-comedian Mehmood, married outside India, making their home environment “very global.”
This upbringing, he admits, played a part in shaping his belief that relationships don’t always follow a linear path.

What This Means Going Forward

In a world where celebrity marriages are often idealised, Lucky Ali’s reflections bring a more nuanced and honest tone. He doesn’t present his story as a cautionary tale, but rather a lived-experience exploration of love, responsibility and freedom. He’s also indicated that he remains open to future possibilities, having earlier said he dreams of getting married again when the time is right.
